The performance is intended for audiences aged 10 and up.

The life of the teenage boy Karolis is a delicate dance between a passion for the mysteries of the cosmos and the challenges of communication with others. Karolis, who has an autism spectrum disorder, perceives the world as a vast cacophony, where every sound, taste, touch, and smell is intensified, making things that are familiar to us seem alien to him. The safest place for him is his room—a refuge that he transforms into a spaceship, embarking on extraordinary journeys to distant planets in search of his (neuro)tribe—a community that truly understands him.

By combining elements of paper art and drama theater, the creative team of Galaxies takes the audience on an expedition through space, reflecting Karolis’ inner world. While he explores the stars, his mother becomes the bridge between Karolis’ galaxy and the planet of neurotypical people. This performance, based on an original play, is not only a journey through space but also a journey toward empathy and understanding. In a universe that can feel isolating and confusing, Galaxies serves as a sensitive reminder that each person uniquely searches for their place among the stars.

Director Jūratė Trimakaitė is a laureate of the Golden Stage Cross awards, known for creating original puppet theater performances both in Lithuania and abroad. Set Designer Medilė Šiaulytytė has received two Golden Stage Cross awards for her creative work.

A co-production by Theatre stories and Kaunas City Chamber Theatre.
