As International Theatre Day approaches, Kaunas City Municipality traditionally brought together the theatre community in Kaunas for the “Fortune” awards ceremony. Amid applause, the city honoured the most talented creators, actors, and directors, presenting “Fortune” statuettes, diplomas, and municipal prizes for outstanding achievements of the year and lifetime contributions.
Actor Adomas Jasiukėnas received a “Fortune” diploma for his role in the comedy “Wake Up Your Inner Goddess”.
The performance was directed by Gildas Aleksa, written by Kristina Marija Kulinič, with set design and costumes by Kotryna K. Rupainytė, music by composer Jokūbas Tulaba, and lighting design by Tomas Zinkus. Alongside Jasiukėnas, the cast includes actors Roberta Sirgedaitė, Milda Tumė, and Gytis Ivanauskas.
The premiere of the performance took place on April 26, 2025. The director of “Peter Pan”, Karolis Zajauskas, also received a “Fortune” diploma.
Accepting the award, Zajauskas expressed gratitude to the creative team of “Peter Pan”, including set and costume designer Karolina Fiodorovaitė, composer Mantas Mockus, choreographer Adrian Carlo Bibiano, lighting designer Vilius Vilučis, and actors Radvilė Budrytė, Gerardas Ciparis, Ainis Kazlauskas, Šarūnas Rapolas Meliešius, Nojus Mikalauskas, Nojus Žalias, as well as Gintaras Šileika. He also thanked Kaunas City Chamber Theatre, calling it his first artistic home.
The performance premiered on March 29, 2025, and its journey began in 2023, when it won the work-in-progress competition of the international youth theatre festival “Starting Point”.
The choreographers of “Strings Attached” — Mariia Bakalo and Tadas Almantas — received a “Fortune” statuette.
Almantas highlighted the importance of the inclusive performing arts platform “Serpantino Laboratory”, emphasising its social and artistic mission, and thanked the theatre community and collaborators involved in the production.
The performance “Strings Attached” premiered on August 23, 2025, featuring performers with and without disabilities working together alongside professional dancers and choreographers. The project is part of the inclusive performing arts platform “Serpantine Laboratory”.
